Up Load Error and new design

Hi Guys,

This is my first post to this group.
I am designing my own stie for the first time, please check it out and let me know what you guys think. All feedback is good feedback.

I am using V8.5 bussines multi site

I am a new to this web design game and I am on a steep leraning curve. I figure that if i am selling stuff on the internet then I have to know how the put my sites up there myself.

Now upon uploading my site, I got an error message which states that I have duplicite file names for some design files in the DesignPreviewHtml folder, the files have a perfix of ..\ before them, they are all .gif files. So, like you do, I got on to tech support and after a few days we worked out that the files are in a file called actinic.css within the DesignPreviewHtml folder. Now If I delete this file, then upload, it works fine, but the same dogdy filenames are recreated within actinic.css, within the DesignPreviewHtml folder striaght away. So, every time i refresh the site I need to delete this file. I have tech support looking at it.... but do anyone have experiance of this? I really dont get it at all, does any one think its a bug in 8.5?

Can you tell us the duplicate file names Actinic reports?

This may indicate that your images are not in the correct folder - they need to be in the site 1 folder and not any sub folder. If they are not there and have the same name as others already in actinic you will get a duplicate file error.

Hmmm... yes that is what we thought, however the site is loading after I delete the actinic.css file in designpreviewhtml folder. and I can see all the files in the main site 1 folders named correctly. So, where is the ..\what_ever.gif files coming from?

Just looked at your site www.ruralwebdesign.co.uk and I can see a missing image on main page. I'd fix it cos its not a good statment about your otherwise excellent looking site.

Look in the css file for background: url('path/filename') attributes and ensure the files are in the site folder (not a sub-folder), then remove the path.

Darn those pesky images - I will have a chat with the image concerned and if it does not behave then I will have to give it an ASBO
