Prices have disappeared from products...

Hi,

Not a good day today in terms of finding the answers by searching the forum and knowledge base etc! So I'm hoping somebody can help

All of the prices which were previously showing on my site are no longer there. Each product does have a price entered in the product details section. 'Display Prices' is also ticked within 'Business Settings'. I also tried inserting some standard pricing code from another post but that didn't work.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Jules, you need to post a URL for the site, are the prices showing against the products but are missing in preview/online?

What pricing model are you using for your products - if is is sum of components or sum or product and components, the price may not show.

Alternatively you may have deleted the price prompt from your design my mistake.

Thanks for your quick reply. I can't give you a URL as I have not uploaded the site yet. Each product has a price entered. However, yes, these prices are not showing in the preview/online.

When you say pricing model, I'm not sure where I need to look to confirm this?

It is quite possible that I may have deleted the price prompt from the design by mistake. How can I check this?

If you haven't heavily amended the templates, then just return the layout to "factory settings" and start again. This will get it back to as it was when first created.

Failing that revert the site to the last snapshot where it was working.

the majority of layouts "inherit the parent" - prices are no different (normally)
so the first place to look is the top most part of the tree
mine is set to "Standard Tax Exclusive Price"

do you "inherit the parent" or is it custom set within the product/page?

what price layout have you got installed.?

It is currently set to Use Parent = (Compact Tax Inclusive Price).

Yes, it was. I have corrected it now, but I still have a problem with the way the prices are being displayed.

I want them to display like this: ‘Price: £1.26’ which some but not all of them are.

The rest are displaying like this '£1.26'

How do I rectify this?

Ok, look on the 'Design' tab, click on a product in the 'Preview pane' and in the 'Layout code' that you see in the pane below, check to see if you have this in the layout for the products on which the Price: bit is not displaying...

<Actinic:PRICES PROD_REF="<actinic:variable name="ProductReference" />" RETAIL_PRICE_PROMPT="<Actinic:Variable Name="ProductPriceDescription"/>">

Would be best if you use a single layout for all products.

I do have the code in the product layout I am using. I am using a single layout for all products as you suggest.

In that case it should be appearing normally for you. I would suggest compacting your database ( Housekeeping | Compact Databases ) and then check to see if that has improved it. If this does not help, I would suggest raising a support ticket here.

Working on a client site re-design and just noticed that the product prices have disappeared!

I have not changed any business settings and the prices were appearing yesterday.

Can't revert to my last snapshot as I've been busy and made a lots of changes to the templates since.

For this is example, the pricing model is set to 'Sum of Product and Components Prices'. I did try changing it to just 'Product Price' which made no difference.

Can anyone help?

very easy to accidentally delete a whole "block" if it's not expanded! (BTDT LOL)
