    Quick question regarding v8

    Hi All,

I'm still contemplating upgrading to V8 from 7, but just a couple of questions on my mind at the moment:

    1. Does the product still insist on putting "acatalog" in the URL (I know how to get around it by editing the .mdb - but I want to be able to choose my URL, not the software, and still be able to use the network settings within the software).

    2. Does the product still insist on putting the "Sites" folders, under the Actinic install directory? Ideally, I would like to put the Sites folder on my secondary HD which is ghosted for backups. The "Program Files" folder, in my opinion, is a bad place for data storage.

    Many thanks....

      1. Still the same.

      It's still worth it though.

Yes and Yes - but IMO it makes no difference.

I install Actinic onto my D drive which is backed up every few hours, this may work for you ...

Thanks for the idea Jan. I actually don't like the idea of program files on my "backup" drive at all, so what I currently do is tell the backup software to add the "Sites" directory as well to the schedule. I was just looking to tidy it up a bit more than anything.

The other issue is my main gripe, but if it's not changed, it's not changed.

              Thanks again,

              Kevin
