How to Create 3 Independent Navigation Bars?

We are implementing the following site: http://www.visiblyyounger.co.uk/ and want to have 3 separate Navigation Bars:


[Nav Bar 1] Top Navigation Bar to the right-hand side of the logo (as shown but with): Sign-in, View Cart, Checkout.

[Nav Bar 2] Second Top Navigation Bar to the right-hand side of the search bar (as shown but with): Home, plus 5 further separate links to Brochure pages.

[Nav Bar 3] Bottom Navigation Bar at the foot of the page (as shown but with): 4 separate links to Brochure pages.


We have created these in 3 separate locations in the Design Tree by selecting: Navigation Bar | Horizontal Nav Bar Text Links | Navigation Icon. However, whenever we attempt to edit one of the Navigation Icons in one of the 3 separate Navigation Bars, the Navigation Icons in the remaining 2 Navigation Bars also automatically change to mirror this.

As a result, the 3 Navigation Bars all look the same and we cannot achieve the different links that we want across the 3 Navigation Bars.

How do we achieve 3 separate Navigation Bars with the desired independent links?

Also, how do we change from Navigation text links to Navigation graphic icons - to make the Nav Bars more visually appealling?

You will have to make copies/duplicates of the Navigation Bar layout you want to use and save them. You should then be able to select this particular layout for an area. The reason for changes happening all over is because you are using a single layout in 3 different places.

I see that you have managed to fix the first bit. If you download the Advanced Users Guide and look at page 47, you should see the topic relating to having only certain Brochure pages appear in the navigation.

Also, how do we change from Navigation text links to Navigation graphic icons - to make the Nav Bars more visually appealling?

In the layout code right click on where you have the layout selector 'Horizontal Nav Bar Text links' (or the one you use) and click in the space against 'Fixed Layout', use the dropdown to select a layout using images.
