    snapshot error

I get the following error message in export snapshot. The file refered to is my external design, although I don't know why it is being referenced from the given path name.

This error is new to 8.5 (it did not happen in 8.04) how do I get rid of the erorr.

    Errors
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 456) - The file D:\foldera\folderb\folderc\folderd\name.html was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
    ..

I've got the same problem since 8.5 upgrade Jo and after a few hours hunting, i have come to the conclusion that it's a bug for some reason. Is the external design it's referencing not being used and yet it retains some referenced somewhere?

Mine will not allow me to delete the layout from the library, if you have more than one registered, it seems to let you delete them up until the last one, which it insists on keeping. Even after a rename of the layout, it still references the old name, even though that name is not maintained anywhere.

IMO it's some form of glitch where the ref to an external layout becomes a legacy with the software. An IT graveyard i would call it. It was fine in 8.04, failed since 8.5.

I get the same - I think it may be due to the improvements in ensuring that the external design is included in the snapshot which in 804 it was missing. It seems to be referencing every external design that has been associated with the site - I did have a couple of sites that referenced every other external design for every site I had.

I like Lee just ignore them in the hope that they will vanish

Jo - have you tried deleting the absolute path to the template and leaving just a relative path (ie "filename.html" only) under "filename of external design" ... since going relative under v8.5.0 I have not received the warning message

lol, i did post a few days ago about it, but i seemed to be the only one and no ideas changed the problem. Actinic cannot find the design that i am not using and do not want to use and i cannot find how to get rid of it, so be it.

IMO its a problem with the referencing to an external layout which is outside of site1.

where would i delete this path?

I'm going to live with this. In fact I am reverting to 8.04 as ALL my sites are throwing up import errors as described in http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=28270

From memory I think this was whilst in the design tab right clicking onto the outer layout and editing in the layout details dialog box
