    smpt settings

    hi
small (well big problem) with smpt

in my network settings have set my smpt to what i was told, now it works if a customer send an email from my site at www.daydreamersfancydress.co.uk but when they order it sends it straight to the pending tab and not the order tab (i have it set right in payment config)

can i just use the word localhost for both?

    Thanks

    Paul

No connection between email and what tab an order ends up on.

If there is no payment file recorded with the order, the order *will* go to pending.

      Hi

I get the order come down with no payment details on it, but on contacting Worldpay customer has paid?

am sure this is something to do with the smtp mail settings/

The order downloads but goes straight to the pending service provider tab with no payment details even though they have made a payment through my payment provider?

think that Actinic has something to do with the callback smtp settings?

I've never used Worldpay, but over the last year or so I have read about 147 post here that say there is a requirement for the customer to click a button on the Worldpay site labelled something like "Click here to view Vendor Receipt". If they do not do this, they don't come back to your site.

If they don't come back to your receipt page, or if they don't press the Done button when they do come back, then no confirmation email will be sent by Actinic.

Just search the forum using that one word Worldpay to read the many frequent postings that discuss this.

BUT - Worldpay should still write the payment success file response - that has nothing to do with email.

SMTP has absolutley NOTHING to do with worldpay call back procedures.

Have you go the original email from Worldpay detailling how to integrate WP with Actinic.

I've got several sites using WP as PSP and i do not recollect having to do anything except type in the secret key. I've looked at the WP CP configuration options and call back boxes are blank.

I would get on the phone to WP tomorrow and ask them to put you into test mode so you can test.

What Bill says is correct, but even if the customer doesn't return to your site to trigger the confirmation email. The order is still received into the payment received tab (not payment pending)

              hi Jo

ok, well for some reason after i changed the smtp settings to make the email work it started sending orders without payment details to the orders pending yab, i phoned Worldpay who said it was a callback problem which Actinic now handle and have been for 2 years? spoke to Actinic who said it sounded like a smtp problem and try the word localhost, this will put the orders back as they were but wont direct my email?

                sorry

forgot to say that i was told to put
mail.daydreamersfancydress.co.uk in my smtp box, that works great so now i get emails, but an told by Actinic tech support that beacuse the orders are going in my orders pending payment tab that it is a smtp fault?

i know nothing of these things and only am going by what i am told?

                Thanks

it shouldn't as WP is linked to URL, have you changed the URL of the site that takes the orders

                      Paul,

Do you have a call ticket reference number for the issue with support? If you do can you please let me know as I cannot see any ongoing or recent issue for you.
