v8 Design Flaw - Searchable Property Lists

Firstly, I'd like to say how wonderful the template library is. It'd be even better if there was a tab for the scripts too

However, there seems to be a bit of a design flaw and discrepancy in this newly introduced flexibility. Namely that there is no selector for Searchable Property Value Lists. Consequently if you decide to create a new layout, there is no way to select it from Search Settings | Searchable Properties.

Is there any solution other than altering one of the templates for the methods that appear in the list?

I found this the other day, bizarrely, in the 'Top Level Section Lists' group. I'll let the development team know it's there, and get them to move it.

For now I suggest you re-design and rename any of the existing ones you are not currently using.

      Bizarre, so it is!

Is there no way to move it in the database or un greyout the layout type dropdown on the selector?

Yep - if you have Microsoft Access you can go into 'ActinicCatalog.mdb' and go to the 'Variables' table. Search for 'SearchPropLayout' and change the 'LayoutTypeID' from '104' to '110'. That'll do it.
