    Log in colour & positioning

    Hi

Ive set up and account for you to hopefully take a look at

    www.helbentdesigns.co.uk

    username: actinicforum
    password: actinic

    The problems Im having:

    a. The colour of the bar once logged in, bright blue and dosnt really go, I cant seem to find how to change this in themes.

b.When you're not logged in everything seems to 'sit' on top of the view cart, checkout, login bar, but once you're logged in it all seems to sit quite nicely below it?

    Any help would be great
    Thanks so much

      Hi Helen,

I'm quite new to Actinic myself so I'm not sure this will help or not, but this is what I would try.

If you go to Design|Themes|Advanced Themes Configuration.

Then see if you can spot the bright blue colour in any one of the fields on the right. If you can see it, try changing it to another colour and see if that has any effect.

I like you site, looks good!

      Hope that helps.

Sorry, I forgot to say...after you have clicked on Advanced Themes Configuration, make sure you go into the Colour Scheme tab and that you have the theme selected that you are using. This should already be selected.

Thought you might have tried that already? Are you using an external editor such as Dreamweaver with CSS styles? If so, have you maybe accidentally transferred a style across and inserted into the 'Welcome To Online Catalogue' title. Try checking the title to see if there is any odd formatting around it that's causing the blue background. That's the best I can suggest being a novice!

              Hi,

I just had a look at the source code surrounding the 'Welcome To Online Catalogue' text.

              td align=center bgcolor="<span class="actwelcome">

You have no background colour selected so it seems to be defaulting to the bright blue for some reason.

On the link to the 'Kids and Baby' section you have the background colour set to pink #f6abc2

Try manually editing the source code around the title and add the colour you want it to be.

                Hi Jules

Im not using dreamweaver or anything like that, I know nothing about html! So im sorry but im really confused by your last post!

How would I 'manually edit the source code round the title?'
                Thanks so much

                  Hi,

I do use Dreamweaver but I am still learning to be honest. However, this might work....I hope!

When I right-clicked on your website and selected 'View Source' I could see that the html code surrounding the title is as follows:

                  <td align=center bgcolor="<span class="actwelcome">">Actinic<b>Welcome to Online Catalogue.........

Currently, after 'bgcolor' (background colour) there is no colour associated. So, you need the HTML Colour code (e.g. the pink you are using on some of your menus is '#f6abc2'). If you want this colour then in Actinic, you need to go to the Design view for the page and locate where the 'Welcome To Online Catalogue' text is. I think you then need to insert this as follows after the word center:

                  bgcolor="#F6ABC2"

                  So it looks like this:

                  td align=center bgcolor="#FF3399""<span class="actwelcome">">Actinic<b>Welcome to Online Catalogue.........

This link contains all the HTML codes for the colours in case you aren't sure.

                  http://homepages.uel.ac.uk/1698n/colours_hex.html

Perhaps, one of the experienced users of html on here could confirm if what I have told you is correct.

                  Hope that helps.

sorry, just noticed, you need to substitute the #FF3399 (brighter pink- I selected by mistake for the one I mentioned before #F6ABC2 (Same as you menus on your site)

This is what I meant. Sorry for confusion!

                    td align=center bgcolor="#F6ABC2""<span class="actwelcome">">Actinic<b>Welcome to Online Catalogue.........

                      Hi Jules

Ive tried finding the html section you mean through clicking view source on the home page using 'find' and using certain words but I can't for the life of me find that line?

                        Hi,

I went to 'View Source', 'Edit', 'Find', then typed in 'Welcome'. This then brings up the line I mentioned before.

However, I just used that to have a look at the code. You will need to edit it in Actinic. If you click on the relevant section (Login) and click on the 'Design' tab, you should be able to view the code for the page within the 'Layout Code' window at the bottom of the page. It is in here that you should be able to find the text. Try using the Edit|Find function in Actinic to locate the relevant bit in the code.

                        I hope that makes sense.

                          Hi Helen,

Ok, I think I've found the answer for you. I noticed a reference to 'ActWelcome' in your HTML code so I did a search for this on the forum. I'm not sure which version of Actinic you are using but this post (relating to V6 seems to explain the same sort of problem with the answer).

You need to edit the background colour within Design|Text|Website|Customer Accounts.

                          http://community.actinic.com/showthr...ght=actwelcome

Hope that sorts it for you.
