optional components not appearing in the cart

v8.0.4 - added optional components as per this thread - no probs

when I click on the products (out on the web), the main components are being added but NONE of the optional-components are being added to the cart.

• Added the extra product as a separate product (hidden on the web, can be ordered)
• created the component
• linked the option to the product
• "Component as separate order line" = yes
• "is optional" = yes
• "Using optional extra prices and tax" = yes

I've checked that I've got the latest layout of the "shopping cart"

any known problems here, anybody spot something I havn't clicked on / setup

Hi Kevin

If this site is live please can you give us a url so we can place some orders as well and see what happens. I might be stating the obvious here, for the optional component to be added to cart the checkbox must be ticked . Also if the optional components are linked to other products, is the "Can be Ordered Online" box for those products enabled.

all of the boxes are ticked etc so in theory, its not that.
The url is NOT on a live site, so reluctant to post here. - happy to send a private email.

I've tested it with a clean install, and it seems to be working, so its probably got to be something I've done on the layouts. - I've not changed the cart one, so I again have to assume its my products layout. - I'll work on it again tonight but at the moment, its still a problem.

experimenting more, I can get one of the options to go to the cart, but its never the one I actually tick, and I've only ever seen one optional item added never more than one if I picked 2 or more
