Exclude some product from shipping class

Is it possiable to exclude more expensive products from say First class post and only show Special delivery as the only shipping for that product.

What flavour of v8?

v8.5.0 offers enhanced shipping control. Chris D answered a very similar question just yesterday.

This is similar to what we require but the answer is no if you use weight to calculate shipping
