hierarchical file import with components and permutations

    Hi,

We are trying to import a hierarchical file into actinic v8 which contains a selection of colour, size, quantity and price variables. For example: 1 item might cost x for 1000 of them, or y for 2000 etc.

We have managed to import successfully the file which lists just the basic products (no additional attributes, components or choices) as a simple flat file. We can then convert the flat file to a hierarchical file using the flatfileconverter.

How can we build within the flat file the necessary variations of the products to convert and then import as a hierarchical file into actinic.

We have been using the instructions provided by actinic but are struggling to understand them, we have also tried the knowledge base plus calling the help line but no response received despite promise. Ticket number 126102885.

If anyone can help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Since you have already imported the products into Actinic using the flat file, the quickest way forward would be to create a component, Attribute, choice etc and create the permutations on the component by clicking he 'Fill list' option, assign the prices etc within Actinic. Now go to 'File | Export' and export the 'Catalog', this will create a hierarchical file with the correct structure, you can then duplicate the necessary fields for the rest of the products. Save this file and import back into Actinic to update the rest of your products.

    Kind regards,
