I'm a "Silver Surfer", as you can see from my handle, so I guess our site is influenced by coping with my old age handicaps (eye sight etc) and prejudices, I find that I have to restrain myself from making text too big for most people, just because it makes it easier for me!
One thing I hate is pop out sub menus, they are a nightmare to use and frustratingly pop in and out before you can click on what section etc you wish to view. To cater with silver or just non expert surfers, avoid cascading menus like the plague, they just annoy grumpy old men like me.
The other thing I hate is sites that cram masses on a page, a la Firebox, I try and stick to KISS (keep it simple stupid) but I know I'm nowhere near the best in this respect.

Just had a quick look at your site and I notice that you are using absolute text sizes, if you were to use relative sizes then visitors and you! could resize the text themselves - its a big plus for sites designed for the older user and those with poor sight and it helps with your DDR compliance.
