Import error with V 8.5

    Import error with V 8.5

    I've just installed V8.5 on a new machine to test it with our existing V8.0 shop.

    I have run Actinic and on attempting an import of the last snapshot from the development machine I get the following error:

    Errors
    (File Snapshot.cpp, Line 837) - Registry error 5, key Software\Actinic\Catalog8\Original\InstallRoot\ - Access is denied.

    (File Snapshot.cpp, Line 206) - The initialisation file 'SiteBackup.ini' could not be found

    Does anyone have any ideas? All I'm doing is making sure V8.5 will be ok with our existing shop. Or do I need to install V8.0 first and then install 8.5 over the top of it?

    i had a similar issue where i had to clear up the registry before uninstalling/reinstalling actinic several times.

    v8 was installing without creating the sites folder or the sites.ini files

    if you've got cover call actinic support

        Ok, I've cleaned the machine, done a fresh install of V8.0 and get the exact same problem.

        Perhaps a permissions thing?

        I have installed as Local Admin and run as the local user.

        Ok, it's a permissions thing, I've just run it as Local Admin and it seems to work.

        I'll do some more testing.

          Ok, I haven't upgraded the production machine yet but I've been testing with a new machine.

          This is what I did:

          Installed Actinic V8.0 as Local Admin
          Ran Actinic as Local Admin
          Imported the last snapshot from the production machine
          Copied the site1 folder from the production machine to the new machine.
          Tested the application and the site looks fine.

          Upgraded to V8.5

          Ran the application as Local Admin and all appears fine.

          Do I also need to upgrade the order processing machine or can this be left at V8.0?

            Both machines *should* be on the same version.
