    Source files in other directories

    Hi

I created a snapshot of my V.8.03 site (not yet live) and got the following message:-

Warning: The HTML templates specify source files (with "SRC=" commands) that reside in directories other than the acatalog directory on the web site. Actinic can not handle these files and they are being omitted from the list of files to upload.

No source files in the templates should have a path. Store them in the site specific directory locally, and they will be uploaded to the Actinic web directory.

I have done very little to the templates (added a small site map to the bottom of the pages). Not sure where to start to sort this out. Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Bridget

Check all of your images are in the site1 folder for a start. And upgrade to 8.5 as there was problems with previous versions.

I've uploaded the site to a test space (in test mode) and received the same message during upload. I can't see that any of the pictures I have put on (and there are a lot) are anywhere other than the Site1 folder and I can't see that anything is missing from the site after upload.

      Any more ideas please?

Do you have a NOT CATALOG folder?

theres a known bug - actinic parses javascript files but unfortunately reads inside javascript comments and then THINKS that you've placed files outside of the actinic folder.

my guess is that one of your js files will "be at fault" - check these and see if you can come up with the fault,

            Hi Kevin

Sounds like you know what you are talking about - just a shame I don't understand! Could you tell me what I am looking for and where please? If it is a javascript problem does this mean it is affecting functionality rather than a picture?

            Cheers

              Hi Bridget,

This is a passive error and can be ignored if the uploaded site looks and works fine. You can also tick the box not to show it again if you want.

It is normally caused by links or images that are outside the acatalog folder (ie anything specified as <a href="http://...... or <img src="http://......).

it sounds slightly crazy to "hide the future messages" - what happens when you do get a real problem, now you won't be notified of it.

this issue needs addressing back at actinic level - it has clearly decided there is an issue with something, why not expand on the error message a little bit and then tell us where the problem is.

In the mean time, I need to go back and look at my code, I definately saw this error message once, solved the problem and then forgot about it.
                I'll be back
