    Section List in Brochure Page

(This is a moment when I realise I *still* don't understand Actinic...)

I want a Brochure Page which has a title and a list of top level sections.

I added a new brochure page and a fragment, called 'Sections' so that gives me the title. I choose a layout for it - which describes the format. Fine so far.

But if I now edit the layout and insert the variable for top level sections, this will now appear in EVERY page that uses the format.

Is this a case where I bastardise layouts and make one which is only ever going to be used for this one fragment? Or am I worrying about being too pure?!

I have tried copying, say 'Text and Title', to 'Sections' and then editing that to show the fragment title, text, plus the <actinic:variable name="TopLevelSectionList" /> and that works but...

    Cheers.

This is where the conditional statements are very handy. You can wrap your layout in a "block if" and set these to test what type of page it appears on ... there are several in there such as (not the correct names as not on a v8 machine at the moment but you will see and get the idea) IsBrochurePage, IsHomePage etc

If the page is a brochure page the layout is included, if not the code is left out.

      Thanks...

      I had noticed that technique.

And in Ts and Cs, there is a bulk which then contains separate layouts for each of the paras.

So that's another way. The poor Actinic cat is very skinned.
