Search Engine Friendly & Two Different Layouts Q.

I have usually hand coded my site navigation in order to make sure it is search engine friendly as Actinics nav uses CGI links which the SE aren't keen on. Has anything changed in Actinic 8? If I use Actinic's own navigation is this just as good as using html code on the page? I'm assuming not but it would be easier to use the inbuilt navigation.

I would like to use two different kinds of navigation i.e. page with brands on and when the brand is clicked it opens another layout with all the items related to the brand visible where the first navigation list appearred. Again I would normally use a html to do this but can I do this in Actinic 8 somehow?

    Thanks

My view is if there is a link to sitemap above your navigation, then nav is less important as you are already providing a link to all pages via sitemap.

V7 can generate non cgi links so you did not need to hand code the nav. V8 is exactly the same as V7 in terms of navigation ie you select what you want to use ie cgi or non cgi. As jo says it makes very little difference if you have a site map.

V7 can have as many layouts as you want for different pages - V8 is the same.
