    Sections // html layout

    Hi,

I've tried to do the following but not with much success:

I have a html section created in DW and want to use it in sections as a kind of information sheet for the products on that section (each information sheet will be different for each section).

I've tried to use a fragment layout, but this didn't work as it changed things globally.

I've got a feeling I need to use design | library (?) but I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.

Can anyone give me a bit of advice?

    Thanks

A fragment sounds like what you need to use. If it changes globally when you use one, i would suggest you are using it incorrectly. For it to be changing globally, i would imagine that you are including the code in design view - don't do that as that changes the layout template. Include whatever you need in the fragment in the content tab. There are a number of different fragment layouts available. Text is added to the fragments in the same location as products are added.

Thanks Lee -- I think you're right and i've inserted the code in the fragment design view. No worries about that, I can remove it easily enough.

Can I insert my HTML in the 'text' box of the fragment, or, should I use a 'fragment layout'?

If it just html you wish to add, then select a "text only" fragment layout (once you have added the fragment) and then just include your code into the text field. To embed html into the text field, it will need surrounding in the actinic html markers - !!< at the start and >!! at the end. This tells actinic to process this as html.
