I shall write a new post each day requesting this, i will break them eventually. Just Like Andy Dufraine in shawshank asking for books. And when they finally cave in, i shall write 2 posts per day requesting something else.

I once did that with an outstanding invoice not paid .. I got hold of their fax number and fed a continued loop of the statement over and over and over for a 30 minute period ... I got a call threatening me to desist or they will instigate legal proceedings and paid the account there and then

        Classic idea.

When i write an important letter, i always send 2 copies and let them know i have, stating that "i have sent two copies of this letter to make sure the first doesn't get lost".

I have never ever failed to get a response when doing this.

The 'Network Setup/Configuration' forum was closed last year for the following reasons:
          • It got far fewer visitors than the other forums, so questions went unanswered for longer
          • Lots of new customers didn't know they had a 'Network Setup' problem - all they knew is 'Actinic didn't work' so the config questions were asked in the standard forums anyway
          • People who are unused to forums tend to post things in the first forum they see - so we ended up with all sorts of questions being asked (much in the same way that a forum administration question has been asked in a support forum - which happens to be the first one in the list )
It was felt that the benefits of having the forum were outweighed by the disadvantages, so we retired it.

I do take your point though, so I will re-open the issue with the management team - I am, as a rule, however, trying to keep the number of different forums to a minimum as it is confusing at the moment for new customers to know where to post.

Technically we are not adding to the index, we are opening a current one backup and renaming it to something useful and clear. The "NEW POSTERS PLEASE READ THIS" posts could also reference to the forum.

If you say No, i will break you in the end just like Andy did, either that or i will get banned from posting, either way my life would probably be better lol, so i'm happy with whatever you choose.

Do you have the option of "child" boards?, if used correctly, these help a lot for sure.

Call it something simpler eg Connection Problems

                "Common ISP Problems with Actinic"

Then list the most popular ISP setups in a Pull down or Hyper-link list that the MOD updates from members sugestions

Agreed - this would be the best way ahead as most network settings are ISP specific. There are not really that many and the info is already on the forum OR post the network settings on the Actinic website.

Anything similar to how i did the V8 problem solvers thread would be good. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

"Common ISP Problems" would not be my recommended title as ISP will be double dutch to some people, especially newbies. Maybe i do them a disservice, i just think it should be as simply named as possible.

"Connection Problems - Network Settings" would get my vote.
