    Contemporary Theme Question...

    Hi,

I'm in the process of updating my website to take advantage of V8 benefits however I'm really struggling with the design. I'm currently trialling the software and haven't anywhere to upload the site to so sorry I can only describe at the min.

My site www.aloevera-and-you.com designed in v7 with the Smart Theme upgraded well, however I now wish to take advantage of the Contemporary theme layout, but there's a couple of things that I'd like to know how to do:

    1. The fragments within the 'old' brochure page used to be laid out in columns, I've followed all the suggestions about how to do this in V8 but for some reason it continues to lay the fragments out 1 per row and I would like 3. Could this be due to the upgrade?

    2. I'd like to introduce a column to the right hand side and move the shopping cart across along with the best seller etc...

I'd really appreciate your help on how / if I can do this??

    Thanks

    Linda

What do you have set in 'Settings | Site Options | Layouts' scroll down the page till you reach 'Fragment' and 'Column Count for Brochure Fragments', the default is '1' change it to '3'.

You will have to play around with the CSS to get that to happen, the theme is built on 2 columns, and you will have to introduce a third. It will take some fiddling with to get right. If you want the column on the right hand side, you would perhaps be better off starting out with a theme that has one in place so that all you need is to customise the look.
