    PROTX payment problems.

I'm having problems with a capital "P" with our PROTX payments.
Using V8, and have followed (or seem to have) the setup instructions.
Problem is our PROTX payments go through OK; we can confirm by opening PROTX admin, and we get the confirmation E-mail. So far Great!

Now is the bit that goes pear shaped about 75% of the time, the customer gets a message from PROTX saying that the "could not contact the vendor webiste, so the vendor may not be aware that a transaction has taken place"

I have tried PROTX, and the advised that we were not supplying the URL for our receipt page, from what I can see this seems to be the URL for the completed and aborted checkout, in the design options?? so I have put the following URL in --- http://www.kitchenwareonline.com/acatalog/order04.html
which I understand to be the page required.

This has changed nothing. The problem only seems to have started since upgrading to V8 from V5, which was otherwise fairly painless.

Is this correct or am I being a complete dummy?
    Some advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks, in anticipation Steve Griggs
    http://www.kitchenwareonline.com/acatalog is our main URL.

    Hi,

so I have put the following URL in --- http://www.kitchenwareonline.com/acatalog/order04.html
which I understand to be the page required.
This is wrong. The URL for completed and aborted checkout means the page you want the customer to land on if either they click 'Cancel' in checkout or click 'Done' on the receipt page (completed checkout). So you may want them to return to your home page for example.

I have tried PROTX, and the advised that we were not supplying the URL for our receipt page
All this is automatically set up in Actinic for you, unless you have customised the page. I would suggest that you open Windows Explorer and browse to 'c:\program files\actinic v8\OCCUpgrade\CommonOCC\' and copy the 'Act_OCCPROTXTemplate.html' and 'OCCPROTXScriptTemplate.pl' files into 'c:\program files\actinic v8\Sites\<site name>\CommonOCC\' (take a backup of these files in this folder first). Also, make sure that your Encryption key is in the 'OCCPROTXScriptTemplate.pl' file (open with 'Notepad' and search for 'password' - if it shows 'testvendor' then you need to change this to the Encryption Password that Protx supplied to you). Upload your site (a refresh would be preferable).

      PROTX payment problems

      Hi TraceyG.

Thanks for the reply. I had a feeling that the URL was a false lead, but I was clutching at straws. I have checked the password setting in the occscript, and it's OK. PROTX are currently having a look into the transactions where the problem has occurred, as they now say it could be a problem at their end.
We still get the payments OK so its just a pain, we're not losing orders though it, just means extra admin to to reassure customers.

PS looking back over last few months I can't balme V8 for the problem, as it started when our website hosting company upgraded the server...I have to say that V8 is a huge improvement over V5, barring a couple of minor niggles.
      Many thanks Steve.

If anyone is having problems with PROTX payments like we have, IE. the customer completes the payment OK at PROTX, and then gets an error message saying that the vendors website could not be contacted then its worth getting PROTX to check that your server responds to them within 10seconds. If it doesn't PROTX times out and you get the error messages.

We have now made the decision to use dedicated Actinic hosting.

          Protx Bounce back

I have tried this and it still doesn't work.

I get to the authorisation screen in Protx and it processes ok, but doesn't bounce me back to my website

          Any ideas?

          Many thanks
