Is it possible when using "related products" and "bestsellers" to direct the link to the extended information page of the product instead of a brochure page where they then have to click again?

For instance I want to send the client here http://www.quality-silver.co.uk/acat...lery-70ET.html

Instead of here http://www.quality-silver.co.uk/acat...ets.html#a70ET
This is only a test server. Some links will go to the operational site whilst others are broken.

I have searched the advanved user guide and the forum and haven't found anything.

I don't know if you can do what you are asking, but if others say no you can't an alternative strategy would be to use one product per section.

There is another thread on the forum trying to do the same and I agree with jo that it does not seem possible. The use of the ext info for single product pages is IMO a bad idea - it was discussed when V8 was in beta last year.
