selling the same thing in lots of different colours and sizes

    Hello,
Let me start off with I know Norm has a Actinic add on called NorMatrix for something like this. But I am using Actinic version 7.0 and Norm dose not has this patch for this version also this is little more different than what he has.

Is there any other way to accomplish this in Actinic? The shopping cart allow you to sell the same thing in lots of different colours and sizes not only that the are price breaks when total quality on the same item hits certain amount?

All this is shown in the following link. CLICK HERE

Any help would be really appreciated.

    cheers!

    Hi Jack

You can only get that kind of matrix with an immense amount of custom work which would cost you a small fortune. Norman's script is for V7, at least this page says its so. You will not find anything that cheap anywhere.

I bet it would cost a lot more than £50.00 IMHO to have this built for you.

        Normski rocks!

I love norm, but the question is is there any other way to do this?

Norm patch is £200 not £50 also it dose not support 7.0.0

so if you know how to do this I appreciate your help.

Also I don't think norm patch dose what I am looking for...

          Cheers

I have in my memory that it is £125 and is available for V7. Are you guessing at this information or is this what you have been told by Norman?

To clear something up; to do that amount of custom work will cost you in the region of £2,000. There is no standard way of doing it at all, nothing can come even close. Its a 100% custom build, where you employ somebody dedicated to build it for you or you rip Norman's hands off for that example shown.

That is a lot closer to the mark IMHO.

The reason that patch (it's available for both V7 and V8) is £150 is that there's a HUGE amount of code required to do this.

The patch modifies, 5 Perl scripts, adds several design elements, includes a JS and CSS file plus the documentation. Not a trivial exercise to write or maintain.

Whenever Actinic release an update the 5 Perl scripts need to be checked for compatibility and updated if required. Keeping the patch going through these changes is also part of the price.

And now I've got to do all that for 8.5.1Beta

                  Hello,
I understand that the code it's lots of work, but I can't afford it. Is there any other way I can do this?

                  Thanks

Interestingly your screenshot which shows a partly filled matrix (only 1/3rd) would result in a sale of $3,200. Looks like the first customer would pay for the lot!

To make this purchase without the matrix would require the customer to make about 50 mouse clicks and go between 22 pages back and forth to the cart.

What dose exactly your patch do and how dose it work?
I know you can add multiple sizes and colors, but can it give discounts when the total quaintly only for that item hits. for example it the total quaintly for that item is 12 pieces price is $10 when it's 24 pieces it's $8 and so on...

can I customize the table to it looks just like my attachment?

How can I customize the patch?

last but not least how much is the price of the patch in US Dollars for 3 different sites.

what happens if later on upgrade my actinic. do I have to pay for the patch again?

Norm has a forum on his own site so it will be worth looking there as well.
