    Price Text

Can anyone tell me how to import text for a price description - eg: "per box of 10" or "per tube" or "per metre" etc. at present I have to edit each product manualy and put the text in the 'Customer Message' field under the prices tab.
    Thanks

    Welcome, Terry

This one's in the Actinic Help (Help / Help Topics). It shows that you can use a field called Price Text to do just that.

Price Text - No field to map to

Yes, I saw this in the documentation and prepared my import file with the 'per box' etc. stuff.
However when I came to import the csv file there was no 'Price Text' field to map to!!!

        Hi there

It looks like there is a mistake in the help. Price Text is now a 'user-definable variable', which cannot be imported via a standard flat file.

However, all is not lost as in the help as in the section called 'Importing | Converting Flat Files To Hierarchical Files' it tells you how to get your flat file into a format that can go straight into Actinic and bring all the user-definable variables with it.

        Hope that helps you out.

Or will do with v851, with the importing CV value bug fix.

            Terry,

Whoops. Silly me for believing the Help.

As Duncan mentions, there's a bug in 8.5.0 and under whereby User Defined fields cannot be correctly imported.

V8.5.1 fixes that (but is in Beta so I'd not recommend it for a live site) and there's also a replacement 8.5.0 Catalog.exe containing that fix, that you can get from Actinic Support.

If they're gone for the weekend and you're desperate to keep going, then there are a few of us with this file so we may be able to forward it to you.
