You have extra closing tags on the Meta data, I think this might have been a bug at some point, code below should do it!

Or if you want to do it yourself, just remove the extra 4 " /> from after the Meta tags and the 1 "> too.

I have done that, which does remove the "/> from the top of the page, but still doesn't load the page correctly, I can also see some > before the view basket, checkout and login text but if I remove that they disapear from all other pages.

You don't want to remove it from there, you simply have an extra > in those lines, see below:-

<li><a href=<actinic:variable name="CartLinkText" />>view basket</a>
<li><a href=<actinic:variable name="OrderLinkText" />>checkout</a>
<li><a href=<actinic:variable name="LoginPageURL" />>login</a></li>

Here's how it should look:-

That's not correct. The >> are needed (one closes the Actinic Variable and the other closes the <a ... tag).

but something strange has happened...

We'd be better placed to help if you actually told us what's happening that shouldn't be. Otherwise we're just guessing.

Yep I'm being a prat, too many ruddy " in these variables. Steve, think you have just forgot to enclose the href variable in "".

Try this:-

<li><a href="<actinic:variable name="LoginPageURL" />">login</a></li>

Just spoken to actinic support, it was all down to the page name of the main online catalog http://www.simplydigital.co.uk/acatalog/index.html it was somehow clashing with http://www.simplydigital.co.uk/index.html changed to http://www.simplydigital.co.uk/acatalog/shop.html and everything working fine.
