    search problem v8 site

Have just exhaustively upgraded a v7 site to v8 - lots of problems which I wont bore people with here but just one main problem left now.

The search has ground to a halt and doesnt work properly although it was. example at shop.ezee-fix.co.uk - try searching on hotpoint - should be loads of results but only get one????

    appreciate any help

Searching on other strings returns often hundreds of results but Hotpoint only the one despite other Hotpoint products being live on the site - bizarre

What setting have you got in the search settings set up?

I'm wondering if you've excluded sections from the search

it all looks standard to me but wierd that the test site test.shop.ezee-fix.co.uk search works ok although a few other things screwed up.

          search settings:

Its really handy to have a dev space to test but it needs to be the same server environment as live.

if you try insulating as a search term in both sites you get either a page of results or nothing but both setup the same?? Only main diff is that the live site has SSL.

I've just had a go and "hotpoint" brings up loads of results.

Did you find out the problem?

              Hi Toby,

In the end I switched off SSL and did an upload then switched it on and uploaded again and it works fine now. Must have been an old file there? I wasnt sure which files the search relies on, presumably in the cgi-bin but all fine now.

Hopefully the version8 upgrade and design tweaks will help generate more orders.

                Hi Kevin,

Could have been a dodgy fill file or search script.

I would have suggested a website purge and refresh.

Well keep your eye on it and let us know if you get any more probs.
                Regards,
