Easiest way to do this would be to look at the source of one of your pages that has such a link. In Internet Explorer, simply do View / Source. Page opens in Notepad. Then search for the appropriate text.

Do you own and maintain the website with the images on that you want to link to?

          Images

          Yes

the images are on this site im doing for a customer

          http://www.thatcompanycalledif.com

and the shop i started this morning is

          http://order.thatcompanycalledif.com/

so it makes sense to use them only once

          any ideas?

          thanks

The only way you could do this from what i can see is to create your own variable for image name and specify the url in the variable which would provide the image source on upload.

As the only thing this could save is webspace, which nowadays is pennies, i think you'd have to be crazy to adopt this approach. Preview, snapshots etc. would just be problematic.

                Images

The reason i thought about it is because the websites are image intensive and people are bound to have looked through the trade section and cached the images so on using the online shop it should load faster, maybe i am just mad, was just a thought

                Cheers

In order for these images to be uploaded, they have to be used on at least one of your sites. Your other site would be reliant on the main site for its images. Your other site would still need product images defined or the HTML to display them wouldn't be generated. All in all, a recipe for problems.
