    ca000001.pl fault?

My test site worked fine the other day so I uploaded the live version and now none of the checkout buttons seem to open the ca00001.pl file?

I have reverted to my old site (nothing to do with V8) and even the test site below will not work when the checkout button is pressed in IE or FF

I haven't edited this file either in anyway

    I think I meant ca900001.pl file

Either way, having just tested it again did it work, then it didn't

So if it works then it WORKS! but why is it hit and miss?

Suggest you try the following after making a backup

      Compact database

      Refresh site

I have done that so many times today but I have emptied the entire cgi-bin now, comapcted the database and am doing a complete refresh of the site and uploading in Test Mode to see what happens this time

Sounds like a *.pl got broken. (corrupted)

I think under the circumstances that I would make a fresh snapshot of of the site.

Copy any folders and sub-folder that you may have put into Site 1 directory
Then copy the entire Site 1 directory (belts & braces) over to a safe place. Better still if external to the devepment machine.

Then delete Actinic from your machine and do a fresh reinstallation using the latest version (8.5.0)

Then copy over all the folders & sub-folders back into the new Site 1.
            Import the snapshot.

            Then refresh the site

(BTW: I hear that Actinic will announce that v8.5.1 will be available some this week?)

it was fine but now it isn't

Mr Ruralweb, I've done backup, purge and refresh all day - sounds like a re-install here

yet another weekend down the drain on this :-(

absolutley a corrupt .pl here but I don't even know how to repair it
This is all I get when clicking Checkout now but the .pl file is in the cgi-bin

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /cgi-bin/ca900001.pl could not be found on this server.

Im not seeing a corrupt file - Im getting a cookie error

This shopping application requires permission to use cookies on your machine, but this has been denied

This error has been discussed many time before.

                      you're using IE?

I don't get the "cookies" statement in IE7 no more, I've looked at this thread you mention but it neither works in Firefox so this isn't a Cookies issue, the site was fine, this is a corrupt .pl file - it has to be but no idea how it went belly up

Bit of a double post going on here http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=29603 you may want to just confine the problem to on thread.

Several folk have looked at the website and received errors - IMHO, the error saying cookies etc is a red herring, something in a .pl broke and forcing an erronious error report. Lets look at the logic:
                              1) several folk looked at the site and gets errors re cookies
                              2) those same folk can visit other sites and their own and not get the error.
                              3) the only common factor is the site giving the error
Ergo, summut broke in the dev machine or on the server...

Again IMHO a site snapshot and site 1 folders into a safe place, delete actinic and reinstal. That should reset all the *.pl files on the development machine - then upload entire site again... Took me less that half an hour a couple of days ago!

IMHO - ever so 'umble, I am. 'onest guv!

Whatever Kev - Hope it gets fixed soon.
