Our quick search works fine (although displays prices ex VAT for no apparent reason) but our main search has ceased to function. It just produces no results. Any ideas?

Oh, yeah. Doh.
I have a couple of bugs that seem to have crept in since all the upgrades. Another is dissapearing states in my locations which I have tried and failed to rectify in a similar way.
What I'm wondering is if there's a way to import all my orders, sections and products into a fresh Site1 and make the few changes that I have made to get the site back to where it is now. There's not an awful lot of customisation on the site apart from the product per page. Is this a viable option?

OR save the latest database somewhere safe, export to hierarcichal file and import hierarcichal file to a new site. Then use the import orders to get the orders from the saved database. This method is more cumbersome as you will have to repopulate company info, terms, and so on

Thanks, I'm thinking of the second option. The main layout change I have made is the extended info so would need to stick that in but I'm feeling I need a bit of a fresh start as i'm spending a lot of time correcting annoying bugs. Maybe I'll give it a whirl on another PC and see how it goes first.

This is going from bad to worse. I put a fresh copy of 8.5.1 on a fresh PC. I then imported the catalog which I had exported from my original PC. I have a few layout ammendments, mainly product layouts, nothing major. So, I start setting everything up and suddenly notice that once again, my states are dissapearing! Also, in common with the main PC, I cannot seem to give a product or group related discount as the box stays greyed out in the cart contents tab. I have not uploaded the site to see if search works as I'm pretty hacked off that I have spent all this time for nothing.
What on earth is causing this? Is the corrupt data in the catalog import? Surely that's just a bunch of products and sections. The site appears to be falling apart around my ears at the mo. What am I doing wrong? I had a big giveaway planned for the weekend which I've had to shelve as I can't do 100% discounts on particular products. Now I see my discounts previously set up are dissapearing.

I'm thinking this is a general bug. I've uninstalled v8 and then freshly installed it again. I then go into Access and remove all but the UK under countries. Then I add the states: Mainland UK, Northern Ireland, Other UK Islands and BFPO. Anything I try to add after that dissapeares either by closing and reopening the tag or from exiting and restarting actinic. On the main actinic PC, only Mainland UK and Northern Ireland stay put, the rest dissapear almost every time I do something.
