    constantly loading html pages HELP

Over the last couple of week our V8 has started to upload the entire site each time a product has changed. Getting a bit fed up of this as it takes forever. It only loads the html pages not the images (thank god)

Any idea why this has started happening or how to fix it, currently having to sit and wait in case of FTP errors?
    Thanks

Sounds like you are refreshing and not updating?

What happens if you do an Update without changing anything?

OK - hit the upload arrow without changing anything and it sends off of the files again.
        Thanks

Hmmm... That made me think that maybe you've got some content that's always changing on your pages.

Try this. Go to a page that you know gets changed. Do View Source and copy paste the text to a textfile. Now do another Upload and again View Source and copy past to a different textfile. Compare the two files and see if anything's different (use Winmerge - www.winmerge.org - if you've no other tools for this).

Thats a good call Norman - we use a rotating banner script on the top of each page but I assumed that because the code was fixed that the pages remained static. It rotates banners - URL and keyword descriptions
            Thanks

I saw that script but don't think that it's the culprit. It looks the same on every page to me.

Something like using an Actinic block of PHP to display todays date and time would cause this problem.

Try the compare and see if anything stands out. If there's no change in the page then we're probably looking at an Actinic problem.

Do you have Best Sellers enabled on your store?

Check in Marketing | Best Sellers and see if you have "Auto Generate List Every Upload checked.
