Customised Search

Hi

I'm trying to create a custom search which only returns results based on a user-defined variable called 'Shape' (diamond shape) together with a price. You will see what I mean by visiting the test site here: http://www.southernartists.co.uk/acatalog/search.html

The client only wants two fields (diamond shape drop-down menu and price) to be displayed and no other, so that only a search result for diamonds are returned and not the rings sections of the site (eg not Engagement rings, Eternity rings, Pendants).

I hope that makes sense. Grateful for any ideas of how to achieve this.

Nigel,

Can you check to see if checking the option 'Match Whole Words Only' in 'Settings | Search Settings | Search Options' under 'Indexing Options' would work for you. This causes the search to only consider the word selected from the drop down in the search.
