    Crystal Reports on Vista?

    Hello all,

Does anyone have any experience of Crystal Reports 8.5 on Vista?

This was on the Businessobjects forum: http://support.businessobjects.com/f...n=1&mid=171116

We use customised Invoice.rpt, Orders.rpt, and dataentry.rpt reports in Actinic and the Invoices.rpt gets changed frequently.

If it comes down to I’ll have to keep an XP box just to modify our Actinic invoices.

    David.

    Hi David,

Looks like you will have to maintain an XP box to run v8.5 of crystal reports and manage your invoice editing.

You could look at usinng a Virtual PC or VMWare to allow you to run an XP installation within your existing system. Such virtual machines have to capability to access the resources of the host PC.

Can confirm VirtualPC and WMWare both work fine for the above purposes... have done it several times...
        Cheers!

To behonest this is another thing that needs changing in actinic, either change the version, get rid of crystal reports or give other options to allow customisation of reports.

I know this has been requested in the past and hope it is still on the wish list.
