Help needed for MDB transfer from older version

    Hi All

I had an older version on trial several months back of Actinic catalog. We designed a site and input several hundred products. The MDB file was around 111mb in size.

Unfortunately we had a few complications with the site and several issues of the way we wanted to sell our product which forced us to look at alternative software.

I have now got around the problem and would like to try Actinic again as this software as many advancements over others on the market. Last night I download the new 8.05 trial version to run of site but for some reason it wont accept the MDB file from an older version.

Can anyone please help resolve this.

    Kind regards
    John

Best bet is to import it as a snapshot - assuming you have one!

Hi I have a few .acd files and the MDB file but it does not work ??

I have just tried to import a .acd file and get the following error

Actinic failed to open the database DSN=ActinicOriginal8.
The database may be corrupt or the version may be newer than expected.
      This prevents Actinic working.

      The error was:

      Could not find file '(unknown)'.
      Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed

Please refer to the troubleshooting section in the MU Installation and User guide for possible solutions.

      Thanks

        John,

Have you made any progress on this at all? If you are still facing issues I would suggest giving Actinic support a call.

        Kind regards,

What did you do with the old database - where did you put it - that message is telling you that the original actinic database (which is the master database for upgrades etc) cannot be opened, which means that either a) it is not there or b) it is corrupt.

Hi, just in case anyone else has had this problem I thought I would post what I did this morning.

We opened actinic this morning on one machine and then closed it and then went to open it on another. It wouldn't open and gave the above error message. I followed the instructions in the multi user guide as it suggested but these didn't work.

            So in the end :

            1) I took a copy of the ActinicCatalog.mdb
            2) I took a copy of backup.mdb
            3) I renamed the first ActinicCatalog.mdb
            4) I then renamed the first backup ActinicCatalog.mdb

            All then worked fine.

            Thanks
