    sage link overflow error

    v8.5.1 Multiuser, Sage Line 50 v11

    Hi

I am trying to set up an installation of MultiUser with the primary installation on a mapped network drive.

I have also setup Link for Sage on this drive, and am trying to test a Act>Sage order process (batch invoice).

My Link profile is, I believe configured correctly (Connect to Sage test on general tab works OK), but when trying to process an order I get:

'error loading profile from file - overflow'
'...failed due to profile initialisation problem'

Have seen previous (2004 v7) threads, and have Reindexed and Compressed Sage data, but problem persists.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks, Dan

    Dan,

I have run this set-up before and can tell you it generates bugs all the time, so much so I brought the database back onto the same machine as Actinic due to the constant problems.

Issues I've had with overflow errors were resolved by either reindexing Sage data, remap of the network drive to a different letter then ensuring the Sage database would reconnect in the Link profile, bypassing Catalog order processing and then re-exporting, copy + paste manually the .csv files created by the export into the Sage host PC from the Actinic host PC... the latter I consider a fatal error as it never recovers from that stage even after a clean reinstall.

    Good luck...

      Thanks David

Have now raised this as a support enquiry. Will report back with findings.

Actinic support found that a Sage Department, was named with just a number, and Link was, I think, concatenating that oddly with the actual department number, causing the overflow error.

All working fine now, many thanks.
