    Best Sellers

    Hi
How can I exclude a whole page from the best sellers list?
I have over 2,000 products that sell for 42p and they will always be a seller
I really don't want to go through every product and exclude it manually

QUICKEST way is to open up the MDB file in Access, and whip down the products table, as then it's just like working your way down an Excel Spreadsheet... but take a backup of the MDB file first just in case...
    Cheers!

If you know what you want to show as best sellers then you can set them manually and lock them so they dont change

Best sellers list being used as "actual" best sellers? I have seen it all now

            surf-wax is for real.

we also only use last 30 days so it changes according to season.

For the past couple of months bestsellers have included wetsuit repair stuff as peeps get their stuff out after not venturing i n thewater during January/feb.

In Nov/dec its stuff like kids toys - bilibo etc.

its quite fun to see it change.

You need to get out more often

A monthly winner and an overall "List Of The Year Award"... maybe presented at a Gala dinner?

                    Hi Marci
Thanks for your advice - worked like a dream
Thanks for your comments guys, Have over 15,000 products on the site, shortly to go up to 27,000. I'd like to fix it, but I know less about the products than our customers - what I like, they do not buy, on reflection, perhaps I should consider it.
                    Regards
                    Howard

Back up your Site folder first.

Open Actiniccatalog.mdb (from your Site folder) in Access.

                      Open the Products table.

Locate, using Product Reference or Short description, a product on the page in question.

In that product's row note down the nParentSectionID value.

Now construct an Update Query that will set the bIncludeInbestSellers field for all rows with that nParentSectionID to 0.

I'm not an Access specialist so you'll have to work out that last step yourself.

Heh - I cheat fer that... upscale it to MySQL, perform the queries in MySQL, downscale back to Access...

                        Can't stand Access.
                        Cheers!
