License Key in MultiSite

When a site is created in MultiSite you can apply the default key specific to that installation.

If the snapshot is transferred to a 3rd party is the license key sent with it (whether into MS or a single site version) or is the local key used instead?

I've always assumed the local key is used, ie the key used by the client to install

Same here, license key is registry driven as far as i know, so dependent on the PC it is installed upon. I'm not aware of a license key being sent with a snapshot and never seen any problems in this area.

Thats my assumption - otherwise someone could use the trial version and get it licensed using a designer to create a site using MS for them - or create a site in contravention to the Actinic T&C for site content etc.

The local key does overwrite the 'deployed sites key'

Had this confirmed via Actinic sometime ago as the concern above was paramount at that time.
