    Vista and XP

Remember how Windows 98 used to be affectionately known as "Wobbly 98" by geeks, is there a similar term for Vista yet?

Ahem. Moving on, I presently run Actinic on Win XP and I need a new PC. Should I go for Vista or XP as the OS?

If I go for Vista, will I still be able to run Actinic on the 2 PCs and share the workload (download on one, design on the other) using a single seat Actinic? Or do both PCs need to be running the same OS?

    Cheers!
    Pete

Wow, lot's of anti-vista here. Personally i use Vista and have had little to no trouble with getting Actinic to run with it and do everything it's meant to do.

My only gripe is Vista itself and that although running Actinic is without fault, the rest of the OS is a big leap from the usual XP style of things. So i think it more so depends on not if you want to run Actinic with XP or Vista. But do *you* want to run with Vista or XP.

Although i have to point out, that quite a few PC brands are going back to bundling their hardware with XP rather than Vista (like Dell), so take that for what you will.

Ok, i am kinda interested as to why people are so anti-vista. If it's in regards to the split site1 folders (my docs/program files) issue, and the UAC that causes this then that's pretty easily solved.

I'm interseted to know does anyone actually have any reasons as to why they want XP over Vista? Or is it just that the cost of Vista and being comfortable with XP is just not worth giving up?

If you need stable working environment you should stick with XP.

Vista is too new and still going through compability, stability issues.
