yep - its serves as a reminder of all the time I waste on here. I must ask the mods why when someone is on your ignore list do you still get email notifications from the forum when they post.

I just think the majority of websites would do better to use SPPs. Sure, sites like that make good use of a list of products, but it surprises me that SPP isn't a simple option.

Personally i would never want actinic creating sections automatically for me, its a key part of seo and quite frankly actinic will not get that part right as it is impossible for them to. We already have a situation where the key information on a section is not mandatory to complete as well as the copy_of_copy_of_..... mallarky. The less they do and the more they make it mandatory for a user to do, the better IMO.

If you find product input long winded, learn how to do imports, although creating a section manually is only a 30 second job if you are organised, I don't think it is long winded at all personally. One of the biggest strengths of actinic is static html pages and the ability to easily control the key parts of SEO, i would not change this part at all. Even if we can start setting up products and defining them as sections in their own right, we are still going to have to fill out and control the key SEO parts anyway.

agreed lee. It always makes me laugh when people use a competing software that can auto generate spp and then they need to spend a fortune on adwords because they cannot be found on google

Fare point, i do see sites with copy of all over the place. But i was not implying actinic to do all the SEO work, just the option to make it a spp automatically, when you create a product you have the option. If you decide to then you need to do you seo, if not then the seo work is done under the section.

Just like i can customize the section lists etc, i would expect to want to customize the spp's code myself, but have actinic automatically generate them. Just another tab in the GUI with "SPP Info" would do it.

E.g., just add the method 1 AUG method, as a standard extended info option

fyi actinic can generate spp without any coding changes at all. All thelayouts are there as standard. and no I'm not going to post the answer because it been covered soooooooo many times before.

it is futile because its all been discussed before in threads going back 3 years. Of would be better discussed one one of those threads rather that diluting this
