    Linking to other subsections

    Hello,

    Please explain how I can link from one subsection to another. I have a section called Lamps. I have allot so I created 2 subsections called Lamps_page_2 and Lamps_Page_3. I would like to put link on page2 to 3 and 3 back to 2 on the bottom the page in this section only..... I cannot seem to figure it out.

    TIA!!

    Bob
    Thanks!!

    Regards,

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

    See the Advanced Guide - Creating Links to 'Previous' and 'Next' Sections - this should give you exactly what you're looking for.

      I have tried that, actinic puts it on all the pages in the whole catalog. I just want the next page within the sub-sections only, for example:underthe subsections in lamps...

      "previous 1, 2, 3, 4, next"

      TIA!!
      Thanks!!

      Bob

        If you add the code to the layout, it will cascade across anything on the site using that layout. If it's just one section you want to do it on, i'd spend 10 mins and just add a fragment (top and bottom), with the links included manually.

        If using in more than one place, then different layouts for the different situations will be required.

            inserting navagation code into fragment

            How can I put this navagation code into a fragment so the navagation stays into a particular sections only not on the whole sight??

            <tr>
            <td class="smallText">Displaying <b>1</b> to <b>10</b> (of <b>196</b> products)</td>
            <td class="smallText" align="right">Result Pages: &nbsp;<b>1</b>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.gowfb.com/Bedroom-Furniture-c-2.php?cPath=2&page=2" class="pageResults" title=" Page 2 "><u>2</u></a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.gowfb.com/Bedroom-Furniture-c-2.php?cPath=2&page=3" class="pageResults" title=" Page 3 "><u>3</u></a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.gowfb.com/Bedroom-Furniture-c-2.php?cPath=2&page=4" class="pageResults" title=" Page 4 "><u>4</u></a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.gowfb.com/Bedroom-Furniture-c-2.php?cPath=2&page=5" class="pageResults" title=" Page 5 "><u>5</u></a>&nbsp;<a href="http://www.gowfb.com/Bedroom-Furniture-c-2.php?cPath=2&page=6" class="pageResults" title=" Next Set of 5 Pages ">...</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.gowfb.com/Bedroom-Furniture-c-2.php?cPath=2&page=2" class="pageResults" title=" Next Page "><u>[Next&nbsp;&gt;&gt;]</u></a>&nbsp;</td>
            </tr>

            TIA!!

              different layouts for the different situations will be required.
              As Lee already has stated if you want something to appear on the entire site you add the code tothe overall layout, if you want to have something on certain pages only you will have to create layouts for those pagesonly.

              or find a block condition to cover it

                Previous and next links

                I have just started with Actinic. It is very difficult to follow the instructions to add 'next and previous' pages. I need professional advice. It does not state in the instruction guide where the actual url that is given in the guide should go and as a complete beginner I really am at a loss.
                I have 7 different sections at least and each need 2-3 pages. I cannot get it to go next or previous at all . Any help ? Thanks

                  You need to show us what you have done Celia and explain which parts you cannot grasp. One of us should jump in and help you then.

                    You will only need to put it into one section page, Actinic then automatically updates the other sections with the previous/next links if I remember correctly!
