    B****R!

Don't think there is any other settings that would stop it from showing. Can you copy and paste your code from Checkout Page 1 into a text file and upload it here so we can have a look.

      Here you go...

You can see the variable in the code.

hmmm, have to admit I'm stumped. Could try resetting the 'Ship to Separate Address' layout back to factory setting via the design library then uploading again and seeing if that helps.

Yes, its very odd isn't it? I have just tried reverting to the factory settings and that hasn't worked either. I'll keep plodding. I'm sure I'll find the answer soon enough. Thanks.

It's bound to be something obvious we are missing. Would be interesting to know what it was once you find it though!

I've just noticed that even though the variable is displaying in the layout code window in design view, it isn't showing in the design tree which is very odd.

                Hi,

Ok, I'm not sure what I did but it all seems to be working now!

I think I have come up with a 'clunky' alternative to restricting to UK only deliveries (V8):

                  Step 1
                  Click on 'Settings/ Business Settings.../Payment & Security'
Click the tickbox for 'Limited by Location'
                  Click on 'Configure Valid Locations...'
In the box 'Available Locations' click on 'United Kingdom' then click on the left arrow to add it to 'Valid Regions and Locations:'
Click on 'OK' to confirm your choice.

You have now set up 'United Kingdom' as your only country that you accept payment on and when you go to the first checkout page, under a new heading 'Select Invoice Location' the UK is already chosen.
Under that is the heading 'Select Shipping Destination'. The default under the drop down list is 'Use Invoice Location' which most people would leave as is. However this still leaves the massive list of countries should the customer choose to click on the list. This can be solved by the following..

                  Step 2
                  Click on 'Settings/ Locations...'
A box will come up with a list of all the countries of the world.
Right click on all countries that you don't want and delete them. This is a painful experience and takes a while (actually you could only delete the countries that appear on the checkout page, e.g European countries).
This will then leave the list as either 'Use Invoice Location' or 'United Kingdom'.

Problem sorted in a mildly unsatisfied way.

                    Hi,

                    Does V9 make life easier?
It's exactly the same in v9 as in v8. The easiest way to limit shipping to the UK only is as Lee describes in Post #2 of this thread. That way, you do not need to delete any countries in the 'locations' list.
