    Variable problem

    Hi All,

Quick Q; (this may sound obvious, but stay with me as I have had 6 hours sleep in the last 9 days)

If I adjust the ACTSTDWIDTH to, say, 400 from within Actinic it makes no difference to aspects of the design relying on this variable whatsoever. If I *manually* remove the ACTSTDWIDTH variables in the design and replace with 400 it works. Why?

Have you altered the size and variable settings in the design library | variables | ACTSWIDTH?

      Hi,

Yep, adjusted it in the Library section.

I have seen this also and thus replaced the references in the layouts with fixed values as a fix.

For it to work fully (px or %) the relative value has to be present in all areas that relate to the appropriate layouts.

For example, % would need to be reflected in the variable library as TEXT (not number) and the Initial and Top Values set to the required dimensions. Then in SITE OPTIONS| LAYOUT | SECTION WIDTH OR PRODUCT WIDTH insert the required % field there too.

If all these conditions are met and there is no influencing css declarations or HTML tags then all should be well.

That does make sense, however I am simply replacing the default value of 600 (no % or px) with 400 (and no % or px). So why does it still refuse to work?

              Is this a bug then?
