Please Help - shopping cart empty problems

Hi guys

I am getting really really fed up with my actinic store at the moment

Im getting shopping cart empty when someone tried to check out, so i did the checkout button fix and it was working for a few days, its gone again now but i haven't touched the site in terms of uploading everythintg - after doing the fix the other day had quite a few orders, its been dead the last day or so, just tried to do a manual order and its gone again???

I cant understand how its doing it - if i had uploaded something and screwed it up then yes

The other thing is when people select maestro with start date the orders are coming through as mastercard with no start date???

Im really hoping someone can help because to be honest i seem to be having problem after problem with it lately and im considering changing to another cart, one which at least accepts google checkout which i dont particularily want to do after paying for a business multisite licence

I get a script error:

Error: Error loading configuration file ../acatalog/A000.cat.

Try doing a site refresh.

Backup your scripts if you have changed anything in them, make a snapshot and and backup your site folder, then..

Try a website purge and refresh and selected to delete 'Perl files and restore from original folder' and also 'delete cat and fil files'.

Else raise a support ticket with Actinic.

what is the checkout button fix?

often shopping cart empty means the site jumps between non www and www, there are lots of threads about this.

Please try to ensure your thread names refect the problem ie "shopping baskets emptys on checkout" rather than "help" it allows people to will help to see the potential problem before opening the post

I have just done a site refresh and its working again - for now, no doubt until tomorrow

The checkout button fix was the one at the top of this page in the support sticky that tells you to change the code for the button

Do many people store SSL pages on a different server and does it slow the site down much - thinking of getting a new hosting package for the website itself but it doesnt come with shared SSL or a static IP so i would want to keep that myself if possible??

if you want SSL you should really change host to a one who supports it.

Some hosts configure SSL on separate folders but its not a DIY job.

if you want to stick with your current host then you could buy Actinic Shared SSL.

I am my current host its on a virtual server with static IPs but keeps running out of diskspace - so i was just looking at a cheap fast hosts 1.5GB space jobby but if i cant do that with SSL i wont bother for now

And no offence but the amount of problems and bugs ive had with actinic lately im not paying another penny
