v8.5 formatting issue

Hi

My client has upgraded form v7 to v8.5 and sent me her snaphot to amend. Main issue she has is that the content formatting of much of her site has ended up being squashed into a narrow column. For example:

However, the problem seems to pop up fairly randomly, in catalog pages and checkout pages too.

Any help with this greatly appreciated.

She is also reporting problems with orders duplicating and generally being botched, though she hasn't specified exactly what these issues are yet.

Again, any help with general known issues with the checkout/ordering process would be great too.

Settings > Site Options > Width for Main Area - the figure in there usually determines the width (in pixels) of the center section of the page, unless it's manually over-ridden (manually specified) within the upgraded template (lingering code from previous version possibly)

You need to find out exactly what the problem is, and then search the forum as there are lots of known problems with duplocates in 8.5 + and several solutions too including a new release of 8.5.1.

I edited the 100% setting for all the <td>'s that control the space in the centre pane, giving them a pixel value instead of a %, and applied to all page types. This seems to have worked fine.
