    8.02 - 8.51 Upgrade, Abnormal Import

Has anyone come across this, I have searched and not found anything.

Site was created in 8 and I've tried upgrading over the weekend but keep getting an error. Have managed to upgrade other sites with no problem and taken 2 in from 7 with no issues.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something stupid or not

    Any help appreciated

    Hi

Are you upgrading using the patch or a full installation with catalog hierachy import?

I've used the patch as advised on the download page

Probably one for Actinic support as they seem to be dealing with all data corruptions on upgrade

Additionally its always better to download and install full versions of new upgrades rather than patches,

Still not working Actinic haven't come up with a fix yet.

I've just imported the 8.0.2 snapshot again and it upgrades with no problem now but when I try to order something I get

            A General Script Error Occurred

            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
            Error: The input is NULL
            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner.

            Anyone have any ideas?

            Thanks

Have you tried a clean install with the latest version? (8.5.1.0.0.0.HFUA)

That's the version I have installed and I'll be honest I'm terrified of reinstalling now as I have 9 sites to potentially mess up.

Not sure what to do for the best

                  OK

Just to elaborate, what I am suggesting is thus:

1 take back-ups of all your current sites and save them somewhere nice and safe.
2 Uninstall your upgraded version completely
3 Install the FULL VERSION (26.xx mb not the patch)
                  4 Bring in your ss's 1 by 1

What I am saying is that it is the patch that could be the issue. We are currently working on one now that was corrupted somewhere in the upgrade router from 7.0.6 to v8.5.1 and as a result a clean install and rebuild is needed in this instance.

                  (PPP was not working...)
