Shipping/VAT Issues

Hi Guys and Girls,

We have a slight problem, a few months ago we changed all our shipping tables so our customers from foriegn countries could not order from the site. This was apart from a few certain countries like Jersey/Guernsey/Southern Ireland and off shore islands.

This was great as we can now charge these counrties more to send our goods their, BUT, when ever they put in an order from any other country other than the UK the programme does not charge them VAT! They do come through with extra charge for shipping but no VAT. I have had a look but cannot see why this is happeneing!

Do you have a VAT rate that is applicable for the Tax zone these countries are members of? The channel islands are VAT exempt, a search on the term will bring up several threads discussing them in some detail.
