Catalog Version 8 Crashes On Close

When closing out Actinic Catalog, the program generates errors.

This began happening after the 8.5.1 HEFA upgrade and is continuing with HFUA.

Are there any patches for this?

Edit: Also, I forgot to mention that this happens whether I choose backup or not, and there's a distinct clicking sound (like when you're surfing pages) when it happens.

No, it's not my computer. No other programs have problems.

Try a database compact before closing.

Sorry, had the wrong previous catalog number.

      That was HERA to HFUA.

Thanks for the info but it seems that Actinic will not even perform a "Compact Databases" function.

I still get the same clicking sound that you get when you're viewing pages in a browser or in Actinic for that matter with no confirmation.

After running a patch, it seems the "Compact Database" fuction is back working but I seem to still be having the error(s) on close.

          Jeffrey,

I would suggest taking this up with support tomorrow morning, call in if you have a contract else use the link above. We will have to see the database or a snapshot if you have one to check the issue for you.

          Kind regards,

            Found Crash Problem

Yesterday, I decided to take some time to see if I could diagnose why I was having a problem on close. The problem was found when I noticed Actinic Catalog was trying to backup to the wrong folder. So far, things seem to be okay after this fix.

              Spoke Too Soon

Right after I posted this, I started having the problems again.

I will have to go an alternative route.

                Seems Okay

Well, needless to say, I had an error on closing a couple of times after thinking I've solved my problem but that seemed to go away. Now, I'm back to being able to close the program with no problems again.

So, the morale of the story is, if you are experiencing this similar problem when trying to close Actinic Catalog, the backup folder might be the root cause of the problem.

                Cherioooooo!!
