Adding CustomSidebarBox to Smart theme

Just experimenting with v8.

Adding the following (Insert Variable) into the Layout Code - Smart Left Sidebar window, under the JavaScript Section List in a Box code does not seem to do anything, whereas c&p'ing the code for the Section List creates another Section List Box. (obviously I can edit the c&p'd box but I'd have thought a blank one could be inserted?)

Just trying to understand it all really, and trying to instill good habits from the word go. And could not find the answer in the UG, AUG, or even on here.

The table for "left Custom Sidebar Box" will only appear if you have values in "Heading for Left box" and "Text for left box" areas of Settings | Site Options | General-> Site. The same applies to "Right Custom Sidebar Box" as well.
