Site database issues with PC switch

    Hi!

I've just got a new computer. Have installed Actinic 8 with latest patch and activated it. I have then replaced the Sites.ini file and Site1 folder (in Sites folder) with the .ini file from my old system along with all the new folders.

Now if i run Actinic, it shows the splash image and then reports the following error:

"Unable to locate the database for the selected site. The site will remain unchanged"

I click OK and then Actinic doesn't load.

    Any ideas why?

    Thanks in advance.

Probably because your new install of actinic allows you to choose where to put the sites folder and by default now puts it in my documents.

There are plenty of threads discussing this new and slightly confusing feature .... one of them will hold your solution

      Maff,

You should not have replaced the Sites.ini file. You may have to reinstall and then just copy over the 'Site1' folder alone. Also check Jo's idea, as you may be trying to place a site folder in 'Program Files | Actinic .. etc' while your 'Sites' folder is actually in 'My Documents | Actinic v8 | Sites'.

      Kind regards,

        Ah, just sorted it actually.

        I uninstalled Actinic.
        Then I reinstalled from CD.
Copied my sites across with .ini file.
        Opened Actnic (all worked okay).
THEN I installed the upgrade patch.
Started Actinic again and followed instruction.

I have UAC turned off in Vista so it's still saving to Program Files.

        Cheers guys.
