    Transferring Product References

    Hi,

Is there a way of transferring product references?

I want to be able to give products a new product reference (to comply with this years product coding) but still be able to use the old orders as a reference point for marketing.

    Is this possible?

You could create a searchable variable called something along the lines of 'old product reference' and put them in there, you could also add them into the product description as text so that they are found in a quick search.

      Hi, thanks

would that also work for the current orders listed in actinic.

i need to be able to use the marketing in actinic to target people who ordered say product 0601 last year but now the product code for the same item is 0701.

No, it wouldn't to do that you would have to keep a copy of the products (possibly in a hidden section that you unhide when you want to use marketing with the tree) with the old references.

The other way would be to build up your lists 1 or 2 reference at a time, there are two ways of specifying product references, you can click on items in the tree (this will only include current items - hence the need to have them in the catalog if you want to use this interface) or you can use the product search tab and type in the reference there.

If you list is only for one item, you could select the new ref form the tree and type the old one into the search tab.
