Linux Operating Systems

I only ask becasuse this is the operating system supplied by pipex on there linux based servers. Simply we need to know if HSBC`s secure epayments systems work on Linux Ubuntu servers, which we have been told is a version of "Debian" based Linux. Has anybody managed to integrate the two. (will it work)
Ive tried to use phpinfo() but this is telling me the server is running RedHat Linux not Ubunto but gives no version number.

The version of RedHat we need has to be greater than 7.3 is Ubuntu/Debian more "advanced" than this? Can anybody think of a way of testing these two??

If your Actinic will work on it - should not be a problem on almost all Nix flavors - then the HSBC will work, as that is connected from your Actinic site and bounced to the HSBC servers as opposed to HSBC on your server.
