Subsection Descriptions

Does anyone know if there is a way to do this ?

My site is divided into
Section
Subsection
Product 1 Product 2 Product 3

I want to be able to take the description from product 1 and create a 15 word summary (or something similar) on the subsection text.

So, for example product 1 is :

Its Description is :

"Wish you were on holiday ? I bet your dog does too.... so why not dress him/her up in this fantastic hula costume and let him/her pretend they are somewhere else too !

So, I want to go to the Subsection :

and where you see :
Hula Dress Dog Costume

I would do this manually, but theres over 3000 products and I'd be here till christmas !!

Page 22 of the AUG will help to get the product description truncated to the number of characters you want.

Try putting that into a modified section layout - not sure if it will reference the first product though - but it'll get you off in the right direction.

You can do this if you have one product per section, but not if you have multiple products

You could export your catalogue and run a clever excel formula to do it for you. Anything that counts on characters can always chop a word in half though, so you'd need to get the formula to only take full words if this was a pain.

Yay, thats fantastic !!

Wish I had that fix when I did the access script to copy the price into the subsection !
